Why do we accredit through the ICF?
You will notice that our courses are both accredited through ICF pathways, the ADHD course (module 1) through ICF’s CCE and our Certificate in ADHD Coaching has a Level 1 accreditation which means that coaches can go on to get their ACC qualification with the ICF https://coachingfederation.org
Currently in the UK, coaching is not a legally protected term, anyone can call themselves a coach, and anyone can say they specialise in something like ADHD, neurodivergence or other fields.
Coaching is not something we take lightly, as a faculty of disabled, ADHD and AuDHD people we know the incredible benefits of coaching but we also know that there is great capacity for poor quality coaching to cause harm.
Best practice for us, means ADHD Coaching with the support of high quality accreditations, an understanding of ADHD which is based in research, applied psychology and thousands of clinical hours, it also means subscribing to (and being held to account by) a rigorous ethical code.
Best practice also means actively being supervised, holding memberships of your accrediting body, and actively engaging in developing your career. For us, this always meant that we wanted to work with the ICF, as we felt their standards echoed our own
